Calculation Formula

Pipe Weight = π × (D - t) × t × L × ρ

Where: D = Outer Diameter, t = Wall Thickness, L = Length, ρ = Density

How to Enter Inches Unit?

To enter the value in inches, enter the whole number in the first box. For the fractional part, use the second and third boxes for the numerator and denominator.

Input Format (inch): [Whole Number] + [Numerator] / [Denominator]

This is also called a mixed number, where a whole number is added to a fraction.

Example:

To input 3 ½ inches, you would enter `3` in the first box, `1` in the second, and `2` in the third.

Result: 3 + 1/2 = 3.5

Improper Fraction:

You can convert the mixed number into a single (improper) fraction using this formula:

(Denominator × Whole Number + Numerator) / Denominator

Example: 4 + 3/5 = (5×4 + 3)/5 = 23/5 = 4.6

Where do we use it?

This format is common in:

Note: For other units (mm, cm), the fraction boxes are hidden. Simply enter the decimal value in the main input field.
