What is Circumference?
The circumference of a circle is the total distance around its outer edge. It's similar to the perimeter of a polygon, but it also applies to circles. Simply put, it's the length of the area that wraps around the circle once.

The formulas for calculating the circle are given below:
- Circumference (C): C = π × d or C = 2 × π × r
- Area (A): A = π × r²
- Diameter (d): d = 2 × r
- Radius (r): r = d ÷ 2
Note: The value of pi (π) is approximately 3.14159.
How to Calculate Circumference?
You can calculate the circumference of a circle using two main formulas. Diameter and radius are two options for calculating a circle:
- Using Radius (r):
C = 2 × π × r
Where:
- C is the circumference
- r is the radius of the circle
- π (Pi) is approximately 3.14159
- Using Diameter (d):
C = π × d
Where:
- d is the diameter of the circle. Therefore, the calculation for circumference is - C = 3.14159 (pi) × 10 = 31.4159
