Hours Calculator Between Two Dates
How it's Calculated?
Our hours calculator uses the following method to compute time differences:
- Converts input times to 24-hour format
- If the end time is before the start time, the calculator handles overnight calculations
- Accounts for different dates in the date range calculator
- Subtracts break duration from total time, if you enter it
- The results are in three formats:
- Hours and minutes, for example - 8 hours 30 minutes
- Decimal hours, for example - 8.50 hours
- Total minutes for example - 510 minutes)
FAQs
Enter your start and end times, including any breaks. The calculator will show the total hours
worked. Typically, hours worked beyond 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week are considered
overtime.
The calculator automatically detects when an end time is earlier than the start time and adds 24
hours to the calculation. For example, if you work from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, it will correctly
calculate 8 hours.
The break time helps you calculate actual working hours. If you work from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
with a 1-hour lunch break, your working time is 7 hours, not 8 hours.
You have to use the "Hours Calculator Between Two Dates" section below. This allows you to
